A £10,000 reward is being offered for information on the whereabouts of a convicted murderer wanted in connection with a brutal stabbing in North Belfast.
Police are still searching for 43-year-old Robert Flanaghan and have urged people not to approach him.
Detectives say Flanaghan is “wanted for arrest” after his early release license was revoked and have given details of a £10,000 reward from charity Crimestoppers.
Detective Sergeant McCartan said: “We are very interested in locating Robert, who is 6ft and was last seen (in September) in North Belfast.
“If anyone knows his whereabouts they should not contact Robert but instead contact Musgrave Police immediately on number 101 and quote reference 152 dated 05/09/22.
“The charity Crimestoppers has offered a reward of up to £10,000 for information obtained leading to his arrest. Crimestoppers is independent from the police. To remain anonymous, contact Crimestoppers directly on freephone 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
“There is no caller line display, no 1471 facility, and computer IP addresses are never traced.”
Flanaghan was last seen in North Belfast last month before going missing after a horrific knife attack on Kinnaird Street.
A man was left in hospital in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times in the early hours of September 5.
Investigators want to speak to Flanaghan in connection with the robbery but have not been able to locate him.
He was serving seven years life imprisonment for the 2004 manslaughter of Richard Caldwell, 29, on Antrim Road in Belfast.
The murder happened just meters from where the last stabbing took place.
Mr Cardwell was stabbed eight times after ending a relationship with one of Flanagan’s relatives.
Friends of the deceased’s family said they had always warned that Flanagan, who was diagnosed with diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia, would pose a danger to the public.
