A first look at the new “Duel Family Rollercoaster” coming to Legoland next year

Work has begun on a brand new ride at Legoland, Windsor – but the park is currently tight-lipped about what exactly guests can expect.

In November 2022, proposals for a “dueling family shuttle coaster” were approved and it appears work has finally begun on the project, which fans hope will open at the park next year.

Last month, images emerged of construction beginning on the ride, which will be built on the site where the former Raft Racers ride was before it closed last year.

The images shared by Source of attractionshowed two work vehicles in the amusement park where the ride was supposed to be built according to plans.

In a post on Facebook that accompanied the snaps, they said preparations for the dueling family rollercoasters were underway.

What we know from the plans is that the ride will have two separate tracks where two roller coasters will “duel” against each other.

Source of attraction They also suggested what the ride is expected to be like when it’s finished.

They predicted: “The two coaster trains will reverse up the lift hills at the rear of the station before being released together to travel through the facility.”

“They first drive back through the station at high speed, under the driver’s cab and further down the hill towards the Duplo valley.

“After completing a three-quarter helix, the trains will then head towards each other over flat hills before completing two camber turns, which will create another dueling moment.”

Other theme park fans are excited about the ride, with some saying it could be a similar ride to the Duel roller coaster at Wildlands Adventure Zoo in Emmen, Netherlands.

Theme park geeks have predicted that it could end up being the fastest ride in Legoland.

They said: “The Dueling Family Boomerang Coaster appears to be a copy of Tweestryd at Wildlands Adventure Zoo Emmen.”

“This is 20 meters high and reaches a speed of 60 km/h (37 mph).

“If the same roller coaster is actually built at Legoland Windsor, these will be the fastest roller coasters in the park.”

The fastest ride in the park currently is “The Dragon” with a top speed of around 50 km/h (31 mph).

Others have compared it to other roller coasters and don’t expect quite as much thrill from the ride.

There has been no official announcement about the ride from the park, which fans expect to open sometime next year.

A Legoland spokesperson told Sun Online Travel that no further information could be disclosed at this time.
