A177 crash at Sedgefield: Person taken to hospital for treatment
Emergency services were alerted to a road traffic collision at the junction of the A177 and B1278 in Sedgefield at around 5.20pm.
The Great North Air Ambulance landed at the scene, while an ambulance crew and clinical team leader were also dispatched.
Police officers, who responded in several patrol cars, cordoned off the street while they dealt with the incident.
Photos from the scene of the accident show a motorcycle lying on the ground and at least one damaged car.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 5.20pm this evening (September 14) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of the A177 and B1278 in Sedgefield.

“We dispatched an ambulance crew and clinical team leader and requested assistance from the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
“One patient was transported by road to James Cook Hospital for further treatment.”
Durham Police have been contacted for further information.
