A1(M): Rush hour delays in North Yorkshire after meat spill
Motorists in North Yorkshire are advised to allow extra time for their journeys this afternoon as lane closures remain in place on the A1(M) southbound between junctions 53 at Scotch Corner and 52 at Catterick.
As The Press first reported this morningTwo out of three lanes are expected to remain closed during today’s rush hour after a litter spill at around 10pm last night (September 7).
While traffic in lane three is able to pass the scene, delays in the southbound lane are currently approximately 30 minutes and are expected to increase through the afternoon peak.
A spokesman for Highways Yorkshire said: “Specialist contractors have been working through last night and today to clear the leak.”
“Resurfacing work was taking place on the road this afternoon and has not yet been completed.
“If you are planning a trip this afternoon and evening, it is also recommended that you check the route before setting off www.trafficengland.com”
