Acadia Municipality officials arrest suspect who shot in drive-by

The Acadia Township Sheriff’s Office made arrests in not one, but two counts of car shootings this week.
According to Acadia Parish Sheriff KP Gibson, the suspect in the two cases said he was from the Evangeline community.
He says there have been two shootings, both of which happened in late December. He says one of the shootings happened on Melody Drive while the other shooting happened on Abby Duson Road near Egan.
While they don’t release full details of the two separate incidents, Gibson says they allege 20-year-old Skylar Lejuene was responsible for each incident.
There are also allegations against Lejeune that he tried to intimidate a contact into one of the cases.
According to Gibson, in the first incident, Lejeune is accused of shooting a house containing two people in connection with a domestic situation, but thankfully no one was hurt. This happened on December 17 near Crowley.
At the second shooting, Gibson says the second shooting happened near Egan. The guy is said to have shot at a house containing five people, but luckily no one was hurt this time either. According to Gibson, Lejeune is accused of obstructing justice by disposing of evidence in those shootings.
LeJeune faces the following charges:
- Seven cases of drive-by shooting assault
- Two counts of illegally handing in a gun
- A case of serious criminal damage to property
- One count of obstruction of justice
- A case of witness intimidation
His bail was set at $125,000.
