Adderstone has a strong track record of delivering high quality residential properties and previously developed the North East’s most valuable apartment, Moorlands Penthouse, in Gosforth, Newcastle, which sold for more than £1.35 million.

Ian Baggett, founder and CEO of Adderstone Group, said: “I was delighted when Sir John Hall agreed to the official opening and launch of Hanover Point.

“The Metrocentre changed our lives as teenagers. We used to take the 611 down from High Spen, past the Winlaton Mill coking plant and hang out at the Carrefour or the Red Mall on winter evenings. They said it would fail, but people came from all over Europe on ferries and bus trips to visit them.

“Sir John showed me and a whole generation of entrepreneurs that it was possible to stay and build great businesses in the North East. He inspired me to become a real estate developer.”

Sir John said: “Ian and I have a long history and it is great to see him and his colleagues continuing to deliver these ambitious projects. Now more than ever, Newcastle and the North East need bold developers to create markets. With all the talk about affordable homes, it’s important to remember that the North East needs quality homes to retain and attract talent and ambition.”

Leading Northeast real estate agency Urban BASE has been appointed to market Hanover Point. Jan Dale, Director of Urban BASE, said: “Due to the exemplary nature of this project, unique high-altitude riverside location, proximity to major transport hubs and overall high-quality design, there is strong interest from the local market for luxury buyers.” Investors and leaders are strong.”
