Multiple weight class champion Adrien Broner has once again called out his former mentor and “big brother” Floyd Mayweather for an exhibition fight.
During his recent appearance on cigar talk‘The Problem’ said the pair could stage a duel in the ring and earn a payday that could set both parties, especially Broner, up for the long haul.
“We only have to do ten rounds and we both get over 100 million for it and we never have to box again.”
This isn’t the first time Adrien Broner has challenged Mayweather to a fight. Mayweather has consistently shrugged off all attempts by Broner to book a fight with him.
However, The Problem remains optimistic about dragging his former mentor into the ring. The active super-lightweight thinks the fight would not only be an opportunity for him to make money, but also an opportunity to learn.
“Why didn’t it happen? It is so easy. This is a lay-up fight. That’s the most money you’ll ever make in your career. I don’t care if it’s a real fight or an exhibition. We can do an exhibition, 10 laps, and the whole world will see it.”

What’s next for Adrien Broner?
The Broner and Mayweather’s relationship has definitely gone downhill over the years. Lately, however, Broner has turned to his former mentor for help.
“At the end of the day, I don’t know what his feelings are. I told him that before. ‘I just want to spare you, brother!’ Let’s say we walk in there and you kick my ass. I will learn from that.”
Adrien Broner will face Omar Figueroa Jr. on August 20th. The fight will be his first in a layoff that has lasted over a year.
He’s gone 2-2-1 in his last five fights. The most productive fight of his career – a match against Manny Pacquiao – saw him defeated by a unanimous decision.
Although Broner showed tremendous promise in the first 28 fights of Broner’s career, things quickly went awry for him. In addition to several other issues, he had notable legal troubles that resulted in his career being negatively impacted by his out-of-the-ring habits. In October 2021, he was jailed for violating probation after failing to enroll in an alcohol treatment program.
Given the troubles he’s been through, a fight against Mayweather would be a welcome opportunity for Broner.
