Air ambulance at scene after train and car crash near Pickering

North Yorkshire Police officials said rescue workers were at the scene of a collision between a car and a train on a level crossing at Yatt’s Road in Newbridge, near Pickering.

A police spokesman said: “Motorists are advised to avoid the area while emergency workers investigate the incident.”

“The collision was reported shortly after 2 p.m. today (May 21).

“One person – the driver of the car – suffered serious injuries.

“At the time of writing, no other injuries have been reported.”
