Imagine you are in the comfort of your own home, on your way to see a man about a horse, when you look at the toilet bowl and see a huge…snake.
Last week, the Alabama Police Department reported that a giant rat snake was removed from a local homeowner’s toilet.
This unexpected encounter happened in Eufaula, Alabama, and the Barbour County resident wasn’t the only one surprised. He called the local police station who came to the rescue and then posted pictures on their Facebook page with a caption that read:
“We never know from one day to the next what kind of call we’re going to get during our shift. Today was no exception, but a queue in the toilet wasn’t on our list of possibilities.
The day shift removed the uninvited visitor and released him to a more suitable habitat. The snake was a harmless gray rat snake.
In the snake defense, he was just trying to reach the homeowner about his car’s extended warranty.
The post has thousands of comments and shares; Some confess that they never go to the bathroom at night without a flashlight.
A rat snake is a non-venomous species that is often found in the wild. The snake is not considered a threat to humans, but its size is certainly alarming.
The police department has not released any information on how the snake got into the toilet and the intimidating visitor has been released to a “suitable habitat” nearby.
Although hopefully not close enough to get “home” again.
