Aldi announces it will open a new store in Stockton before Christmas

This comes as the supermarket celebrated its 1,000th anniversary in Woking last month. branch has opened and twelve more are just a few weeks away.

Aldi says it will open an average of one new store in the UK every week by the end of the year, creating around 40 jobs per store.

The company is also continuing to look for new sites in Newcastle and South Shields.

Aldi confirms it will open a new store in County Durham before Christmas

The new store on Portrack Lane in Stockton is listed among those opening soon, although the exact date is yet to be announced.

New stores in Taunton and Oldham will open in October, following the opening of three new stores last week – in Slough, Torquay and Cannock.

Meanwhile, new Aldi stores will open in towns such as Farnborough and West Bridgford in November.

The openings are part of Aldi’s long-term goal of opening 1,500 stores. The supermarket will invest £1.4 billion over the next two years to expand its presence in the UK.
