Update July 15, 10:55am ET: Looks like Amazon withdrew invite requests at this point. Hopefully this is a sign of more console deal opportunities to come, especially as the Xbox Series X continues to be more readily available.
The console replenishment scene has slowly improved over the course of a few months, with the Xbox Series S being available almost everywhere, the Xbox Series X being available without nearly as many issues as in the past, and even the PlayStation 5 getting more reliable replenishment windows. What is still rare with the last two are discounts or savings. But now, if you act fast, you might be able to get a deal on the Xbox Series X from Amazon.
During its Prime Day hangover, the e-commerce giant allows you to request an invite to purchase the Xbox Series X for a price of $441.17 (although it’s a moving target, as a moment ago it was $443 fraud). Request an invite on the product page while logged into your Amazon account, then keep an eye on your email to see if you’re one of the lucky ones chosen. If so, you have up to 72 hours to purchase your console.
We’ve seen Amazon invite requests for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 before, but never during the renewal of a discount. I’ll admit this might be a total bummer, but if you’re in the market for an Xbox you might as well try to save some money here. Then your first $60 game is effectively free. Much luck!
