Amazon’s 43-inch Fire TV Omni series is on sale

Do you need a new TV for your study, office, bedroom or any other place where medium size is the right size? Look no further: for a limited time, the Amazon’s 43-inch Fire TV Omni series is available for $290. That’s a whopping $120 off and an unbeatable deal on a set that will likely last you a decade or more. The Omni series is notable for a number of reasons, not the least of which is Amazon’s built-in Fire TV interface. Not only does this offer access to all the major streaming services, but also a nifty selection of games and apps.
What did we say about all these games and apps? Well, here’s some big news: Zoom has joined this list. Big screen video calls, anyone? To use it you need a USB camera. Amazon recommends one of Logitech’s webcams, but in theory any Zoom-compatible webcam should work.
All Omni Series models also support hands-free Alexa control, meaning you can say things like “Alexa, turn on the TV” or “Alexa, watch.” What we do in the shadows on Hulu” without ever touching the remote. I honestly didn’t think it was a big deal until I started reviewing one of these TVs, but trust me: hands-free commands are pretty handy.
Features like these, along with the aforementioned app support, help give the Fire TV the edge over Roku. And I say that as someone who tends to prefer the latter’s interface. Right now, especially with the support of Zoom, Fire is winning the smart TV war.
Ease of use versus performance
The Omni Fire TV is easy to use and offers easy access to all your favorite services, especially with the four buttons on the remote that let you jump straight to Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ or Netflix. However, some models – at least the 43-inch model – lack support for advanced features. It doesn’t support Dolby Vision at that size despite being the same TV does support this function in sizes 65″ and 75″.
This model is good value and larger sizes are on offer – but there are some features not available on smaller TVs. However, it has three different HDMI ports, as well as a dedicated HDMI port for surround sound systems, giving you a more immersive experience.
In fact, almost all models in the Omni series are currently discounted. Here are some others if you want to check them out:
