Artist writes Whitley Bay walking tour map for ITV show ‘Vera’.

Fans of famous DCI character Vera Stanhope now have the chance to follow in her footsteps on a walking tour of Whitley Bay based on one of Anne Cleeves’ novels.

Artist Nicola Young is the person behind the map, designed around the events of the book series and show.

The map can be downloaded for free online at Bay Talesfeatures locations from The Seagull – the eighth book in the Vera Stanhope series, which was adapted for television in Season 9, Episode 4 of the ITV drama.

The walk takes fans from Vera’s favorite fish and chip shop, Pantrini’s, to St Mary’s Wetland, which was featured in the TV series.

This card comes just weeks after Brenda Blethyn and the ITV Vera team were spotted filming the upcoming series on Redcar beach.

The crew were busy filming the show’s 13th series on Redcar Esplanade at 6am on August 22, while the road was also closed to motorists.

Brenda Blethyn was spotted outside playgrounds while apparently filming in a fish and chip shop.
