“Bad news for Ronaldo” – Manchester United fans react to impressive ‘attitude and body language’ from player during 4-1 pre-season triumph over Melbourne Victory

Manchester United fans heaped praise on Anthony Martial after his performance against Melbourne Victory, while attacking Cristiano Ronaldo with subtle taunts.

The Red Devils defeated the A-League team 4-1 at Melbourne Cricket Ground today (15 July) to claim their second consecutive win of the pre-season. Martial, who scored in the 4-0 win over Liverpool earlier this week, scored his side’s second goal against Melbourne.

It was a well-placed shot from the striker, who fired a confident left-footed shot from inside the box. Anthony Elanga first misjudged a cross from the right, but the ball was kindly sent to Martial, who cleaned.

Manchester United fans took to Twitter to praise the 26-year-old for his second goal in as many games under Erik ten Hag. A user wrote:

“By the way, Anthony Martial’s attitude and body language has completely changed. He looks so hungry, perceptive, vivacious and eager to get involved. Whatever Erik ten Hag is doing to him is obviously working and Man Utd will benefit enormously .”

By the way, Anthony Martial’s posture and body language has completely changed. Looks so hungry, perceptive, vivacious and eager to get involved. Whatever Erik ten Hag is doing to him is obviously working and Man Utd will benefit enormously.

Another user explained that Martial’s impressive return last season is bad news for Ronaldo, who is currently absent from the squad due to personal reasons. He tweeted:

“Bad news for Ronaldo.”

Here are some of the best reactions to Martial’s performance against Melbourne Victory:

For everyone who stood by him and didn’t turn against him, you’re a real one. This climb back to the top is for you. MARTIAL FC FOREVER

It was an easy finish, but that’s the reward for a rejuvenated Anthony Martial for putting those runs in the right areas in the first place. His movement was excellent again today and, thank him, he certainly looks like he has a role to play this season #muffc

Ten Haag must let Ronaldo go. I don’t want Ronaldo coming back to ruin the squad. Let’s enforce our faith in Martial for next season. Rashford will improve. Ten Haag has his back in midfield (Savage and Igbal) We are ready for next season #Mufc

Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial endured contrasting seasons in 2021-22

In his first season at Manchester United, Ronaldo scored 24 goals in 38 games in all competitions. The 37-year-old finished as the Red Devils’ top scorer, although his efforts didn’t help the club win the title.

Martial, on the other hand, only spent the first half of last season at Old Trafford. He scored just once in 11 games in all competitions before being loaned to Sevilla. However, the stint in Spain failed to revitalize him as he managed just one goal and one assist in 12 cross-competitive games for the La Liga team.

The Frenchman now seems to have found his mojo under Ten Hag. Aside from his two well-taken goals, Martial has also impressed with his movement and connection play.

Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United is still in the stars as he has yet to report to the club’s preparatory camp. It remains to be seen if the Portuguese striker will make it in time for the Red Devils’ next game against Crystal Palace on July 19.

As things stand, it looks like Martial will be back in the game against the Eagles and looking to impress again.
