BBC denies rumors of favoritism towards Strictly Come Dancing

Most of the attention has been on Amanda Abbington after she announced she was leaving Strictly on Monday (October 23).

In an episode of Strictly: It Takes Two today (Monday October 23), presenter Fleur East briefly shared a statement from the show.

The statement said: “Amanda Abbington cannot continue on Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition.

“The show wishes her all the best for the future.”

A show insider told The Sun: “Bobby and Zara are considered ‘BBC favorites’ by their Strictly co-stars.

“After she was rescued, there were more than a few raised eyebrows backstage.”

The insider added: “Bobby and Zara are both big deals for the BBC. There are rumors of an “agenda” to move both of them forward on the show.

“There seems to be an element of jealousy that Zara is going through another week. She’s a real golden girl for the BBC.”

“And by trying out Bobby on Strictly they can gauge his popularity outside of the soap.”
