Beagle FC in record season after cup win
This adds to the growing track record of the Beagles, who have now risen in one season, reached the League Cup quarter-finals and won the FA Cup.
Beagle became the first Division 4 team ever to reach the Finals, and the first ever to receive Division 4 honors.
Goals from Leigh Dutton and Sean Stockdale, the two oldest players in the team, ensured a fantastic 2-0 win from Wheldrake.
The club said: “Amazing performance, amazing performance by all the lads, the club.”
“Special mentions to Lewis Smith who restarted the Beagles with me (Liam Brown) and Clayton Shephard who jumped to the sidelines after breaking his leg mid-season to help us on the touchlines.”
“A big thank you to the people who have supported us throughout the season, namely our sponsors The Beagle Pub, Connor Ryan of The Cutting Room and Ebor Home Care.”
“Without these sponsors none of this would have been possible.
“Angie Ryan for cleaning the club’s kit throughout the season without our asking. She has been one of our biggest supporters all season!”
“Finally, thank you to everyone who has supported the Beagle on this incredible journey!”
“It was one hell of a ride.”
The club also wanted to praise individual players: “Connor Larner ended the season with 35 goals.”
“Connor Ryan and Danny Phillips, brick wall in the background. The Great Wall of Acomb.
“Callum Hannigan is a key figure in central midfield.
“All the boys have been great, but these are the standout players of the season.”
