Behind the scenes why the celebrity veteran quit revealed Sami Zayn’s potential Wrestlemania 39 opponent?

Welcome to the latest installment of the daily WWE Rumor Roundup, in which we aim to bring you the top rumors and updates from the world of sports entertainment. In today’s edition we’re going to look at some compelling stories centered around top names like Sami Zayn, Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio.
Sami Zayn eventually turned on Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble after The Tribal Chief ordered him to attack a helpless Kevin Owens with a steel chair. Zayn used the gun on Reigns instead. He was later beaten to a pulp by The Bloodline without Jey Uso after his moment of courage.
#3. Possible future plans for Sami Zayn
Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer reported that the company plans to proceed with its original plan of pitting Sami Zayn against Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber in Montreal. The plan was reportedly made in November last year and WWE plans to stick to it.
Meanwhile, Xero News has stated that the company is considering hosting another match between Zayn and Reigns at WrestleMania 39. The idea is that Reigns could face Cody Rhodes on night two while it faces former honorary Uce on night one. So far, the plans have not been confirmed.
#2. Possible backstage reason Stephanie McMahon left WWE
Former WWE Co-CEO Stephanie McMahon resigned from her position and left the company earlier this month. She decided to leave as executive chairman of the board shortly after her father, Vince McMahon, returned. Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer has reported why she may have left the company:
“The internal story of why Stephanie McMahon really left is that, and that comes from those who are unhappy that she left, that she did a great job in being cast in the co-CEO role was demoted and back with Vince and basically she doesn’t need the money or the job and had already decided last year to take vacation anyway.”
It was previously reported that Stephanie McMahon had hinted that there had been some animosity since Vince McMahon’s comeback. Vince announced his retirement last year, giving up all his positions at the company. His return prompted some significant upheaval, including the alleged disbanding of Stephanie McMahon’s team.
#1. Reason Rey Mysterio missed Royal Rumble
Former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio’s musical hit during Saturday’s Men’s Royal Rumble Match. However, The Master of 619 never made it into the ring. Soon after, his son Dominik Mysterio came out wearing his father’s mask and hinted that Mysterio was taken backstage.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer revealed why Rey was absent from the rumble:
“Rey Mysterio was injured during taping of Loredo Smackdown against Karrion Kross last night. He was supposed to be in the Rumble, but that spot has been changed. What happened was they made a spot where he was supposed to come out, but didn’t come out, and then Dominik comes out.”
He added that WWE has plans to tease Dominik and Rey Mysterio during the Rumble bout. Father-son is at odds since Dominik cheated on Rey and joined The Judgment Day.
