Kent State Golden Lightning +4.5 -130
Indiana Hoosiers under 73.5 -155
Kent State Golden Flash’s 66.5 -150
PARLAY ODDS SAME GAME +200

As the No. 4 seed, Indiana is 4-point favorites against the Golden Flashes. Losing is something Kent State hasn’t been used to lately, having won 10 of their last 11 to compete in the tournament.

We side with the underdogs in the three legs of our parlay in the same game, taking the Golden Flashes to cover the span and score at least 67 points. On the other hand, our prediction is that Indiana will go no higher than 73 points in this matchup.

SGP pick #1: Kent State +4.5

First off, the Golden Flashes come into this game brimming with confidence with a Mid American Conference tournament title in hand. In their three tournament games, Kent State bested their opponents by an average of 13.3 points.

This defense is very stingy. They rank 38th in the nation in adjusted defensive efficiency, according to KenPom, and that could cause some big problems for the Hoosiers. Indiana is very good but has lost six out of nine games shooting less than 45% from the field.

The Golden Flashes are a team that could be a big problem for some of the chalk in March Madness odds, and Indiana just hasn’t played great ball lately. In their last nine games, the Hoosiers are only 5-4 and have won only two of those games by more than four points.

SGP #2 Pick: Indiana Hoosiers under 73.5 points

In January, Indiana scored at least 74 points in six of nine games. Since then, they’ve matched or surpassed that number on offense only three times out of 11, and on one of those occasions they wouldn’t have matched that number without overtime.

With a payout of +1200 in the Final Four odds, there’s a feeling the Hoosiers will need it all to make it to the second round.

Granted, Kent State has only played two teams with a better overall KenPom rating than Indiana this season, but at both spots they kept their opponents under 74 points. One of those games was against the top-ranked Houston Cougars, who only managed to hit a season-low 49 points against the Golden Flashes.

SGP Pick #3: Kent State Golden Flashs over 66.5 points

We’ve only slightly shifted the team total here in college basketball odds, as most sportsbooks have set the sweet spot for Kent State in this competition at 68.5 points.

Why are we so confident they will top 66.5 against the Hoosiers? Well, they’ve failed to surpass that number since the calendar was turned. That’s right, Kent State has scored at least 67 points in 20 of their last 21 games.

Senior guard Sincere Carry has been dynamite this month averaging 23.8 points meaning he can account for more than a third of that total on his own if he maintains his March performance.

With a 95.2% success rate and at least 67 points in the new year, this is the bet we feel most confident about. Although this is one of the last games of the first round, waiting for a combination of the same game in the Kent State vs. Indiana odds will prove worthwhile with these three legs.
