Biden Whispered to Himself as Handlers Herded Press Out

President Joe Biden has repeatedly dodged difficult media questions — and now he may have encouraged another world leader to do the same.

Biden sat down with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the first time on Thursday to restore ties after the US experienced “rocky times” with the Southeast Asian nation, the Washington Post reported.

“We’ve had some tough times, but the fact of the matter is, from our perspective, it’s a critical, critical relationship,” Biden began the meeting.

“I hope you feel the same,” he added.

Overall, it was a diplomatic meeting between the President and his Filipino counterpart.

Marcos took over in June from former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, who had a particularly contentious relationship with the US over human rights abuses, opening the door to a warmer relationship.

It wasn’t so much what the men discussed during the meeting, however, as more of a statement Biden made quietly as reporters subsequently bombarded her with questions of great importance.

As reporters shouted their questions while being led out of the room – as usual – Biden at first sat still and watched.

Then one reporter in particular asked, “Do you trust David Malpass of the World Bank?” This prompted an inaudible response from Biden, but White House transcripts released after the meeting accurately captured the off-the-cuff comment.

“I wouldn’t bother to answer,” Biden said.

That question was likely aimed at Biden given the controversy surrounding former President Donald Trump-appointed World Bank President David Malpass and his recent reluctance to act on human-caused climate change, Reuters reported.

Or maybe Biden gave himself a general reminder by repeating a stage direction that had been previously fed to him by one of his handlers.

Alternatively, as suggested by the way he subtly tossed his head at Marcos as he made the statement, Biden may have advised the world leader to treat the press as he does when no question is too important to um to ignore them.

It would make sense that Biden’s confused mind was stuck in the middle of the last century, when the World Bank was harshly criticized for how it funded the dictatorial regime of Marcos’ father, Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

Whether talking to himself back in his creepy whisper or trying to advise a world leader on the art of obfuscation, it was another example of Biden’s royal complex.
