Big Brother returning is the best reality TV news ever

News is simmering on social media that Big Brother is returning to UK screens next year – to ITV2.
It’s been five years since the legendary house’s doors last closed.
Doesn’t it feel like it was just yesterday when we saw Emma Willis get all emotional over saying goodbye?

BB’s return was officially announced by ITV2 during a commercial break in the Love Island final last night (Monday 1 August), sending reality fans into a frenzy on Twitter.

Others began to consider what their own tactics would be in the house.
(1) My toxic trait is that I believe I could win #Big Brother but in reality I would beat the token tory candidate and refuse to participate in the challenges 🙏🏼

Others marveled at the appeal of watching people cooped up in a home with a limited food budget and incommunicado.
They make more Big Brother?! We’ve just all EXPERIENCED it in the last two years

Some answers were a bit political.
Apparently the new #Big Brother don’t give away prize money, because by 2023 the amount that the winner saved on gas costs by being absent will exceed any prize budget anyway. #Satire

But most of the time everyone is just super happy that BB is coming back. Especially with the news that the new series should include people from “all walks of life”.

This was met with glee by Twitter users, suggesting the tide is turning to celebrity-based reality shows and even (gasp) Love Island.
There’s no word yet on who will present the reboot or if we’ll also see returns from spin-offs like Big Brother’s Little Brother or Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, but check out this space…
