Purdue started its Big Ten tournament in the quarterfinals and earned a hard-fought 70-65 win. The Scarlet Knights led early and struggled late, but the Boilermakers ended up being too much for Rutgers.
The Boilermakers are the fifth best team in the country and by far the best team in the Big Ten.
Joe Lunardi has Purdue as his second seed in the South region as of Friday night.
