Boris Johnson Had Hospital Operation Early Monday Morning, Reveals No.10

Boris Johnson had a “routine” operation in hospital on Monday morning, No.10 revealed.

Dominic Raab, the deputy prime minister, is currently responsible for making “urgent decisions” should they need to be made while the PM recovers.

The Prime Minister’s spokesman said: “The Prime Minister had a very minor routine operation related to his sinuses this morning.

“He went to the hospital around 6am and the surgery was done first thing this morning. He was back in Downing Street just after 10am.”

Johnson was put under general anesthesia “very briefly” during the procedure.

The prime minister is expected to return to rule the country on Tuesday, No.10 said.

Downing Street said the operation had been planned for a long time and both Raab and Cabinet Secretary Simon Case knew about it in advance.

The Deputy Prime Minister also took charge in April 2020 when Johnson was hospitalized with Covid.
