Brazilian steakhouse RIO opens in York next week

RIO, which launched in Jesmond in November 2019, is adding a seventh location in York on Saturday 16 September to its current sites in Jesmond, Newcastle’s Quayside, Middlesbrough, Durham City Centre, Warrington and Chester.

RIO is an award-winning steakhouse with a fixed-price, non-stop meat concept and an unlimited gourmet salad bar with more than 35 items to choose from.

The dining experience also features authentic Brazilian sides such as feijoada and traditional Brazilian cocktails.

After ranking number one on TripAdvisor in Chester just three weeks after opening and announcing the group’s plans to open another restaurant in York, RIO has been inundated with applications for jobs at the new location.

Co-owner Rodrigo Grassi said: “It was a lovely surprise to see how many applications we received and how many people already knew about us. We work hard to train and mentor our employees while maintaining the high standards of customer service that the RIO brand is known for – now we’re seeing that positive reputation make an impact even before we arrive in a new city .
