Brian McIlhagga murder suspect released after being quizzed by police

A 32-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of Brian McIlhagga has been released after questioning by detectives.

The father-of-five was beaten and shot dead after being dragged from a home in Ballymoney on January 5, 2015.

A 33-year-old woman who lived at the property was also attacked by the gang of masked men.

Four children were present at the time and were left traumatized.

A number of people were previously arrested but later released.

A PSNI spokesman said: “The incident is being further investigated.”
