Brutal photo of a 10-year-old girl who attempted suicide as a result of bullying – Women After 40

A picture of a mother’s 10-year-old daughter in hospital after a failed suicide attempt over alleged bullying at school has gone viral.

The night before her birthday, Lilly-Jo refused to eat and then took ‘drugs’, so Jess Brown rushed her to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Bullying has forced my daughter to fight for her life, said Worcester’s mother of three, Jess.

After a few weeks at Witton Middle School in Droitwich, Lilly’s mum Jo realized she had changed and was no longer her usual outgoing self.

According to Jess, she hasn’t eaten and is much more exhausted than before. “We go back and forth to see the doctors. She immediately admitted that she was bullied.

Jess has visited the school “every day” for the past 12 weeks to speak to staff about the issue, but she thinks “nothing has been done”.

In a letter to Headmistress Cath Crossley last week, Jess detailed how her daughter has been “constantly bullied” by another pupil since she enrolled at the school.

The litany is endless: “She yanked her hair, pushed her, punched Lilly-Jo, locked a locker door on her head, stepped on her foot while it was broken.

The letter added, “I have to fight Lilly-Jo to get her to school with her sobbing, screaming and nausea.”

“My daughter is being bullied and I find it disgusting that nothing is being done about it.”

According to Jess, despite the fact that the school was notified of every incident, incident reports were filed and the offending student was isolated, the bullying continued.

Lilly-Jo has repeatedly told her mother that “she doesn’t want to be here” and with her daughter currently in hospital, Jess claims she has been forced to find Lilly-Jo a new school.

Speaking to the Worcester News from the hospital, Jess lamented that “no one seems to want to help at all”.

“We’re not going to send them back to school; not worth the risk.”

“The doctor said she would have died if we had given her two more weeks. I refuse to bury my child.

Lily-Jo was taken to her GP around 4.30pm after refusing to eat and confessing to taking unidentified drugs Monday afternoon.

According to Jess, Lilly-Jo was showing signs of jaundice, who also revealed, “I felt like my child was dying.”

The doctor then instructed Jess to take her daughter to the hospital immediately.

Lilly-Jo was “disoriented” while they waited in the ER, but after spending the night in hospital, Jess claimed she’s “stable” now.

She said: “I have a child who is currently on various IVs and is with mental health professionals at the hospital on his birthday.

Lilly-two Jo’s younger siblings went to school “heartbroken” and “desperate to see their sister,” according to their mother on Tuesday.

Witton Middle School Principal Cath Crossley said: “When we learned of these bullying complaints, we did the right thing for once, in accordance with relevant school policies and procedures.

“The affected families have been invited to face-to-face meetings with myself, the Deputy Principal, and our Chairman of the Governors. The families have also worked with our caretaker.

This school takes all claims of bullying — including those that are racist, homophobic, gender-based, or linked to a disability — very seriously.

A copy of our school’s strict anti-bullying policy is available on our website.

“We are using this week to organize a special kindness week where children work together to create a kindness tree that will be on display. Brutal photo of a 10-year-old girl who attempted suicide as a result of bullying – Women After 40
