Okay, I was adamant that Natural Light and Busch Light were the cleanest beer cans imaginable, with Natty’s bald eagle, red, white and blue cans and Busch’s corn cans…
But my goodness, Bud Light might have outperformed them both.
Bud Light yesterday unveiled their ‘reverse retro’ tins in a nod to the NHL’s new reverse retro Adidas jerseys:
The new cans come in an arctic blue color with red stripes at the top and bottom, and the OG Anheuser-Busch logo placed just above Bud Light.
In a tweet, Bud Light explained that they were trying to perfectly combine the modern and OG 1990 cans, and boy did they pull it off.
“Original elements of our 1990 can: details on red background, curved lettering, silver patch in the middle.”
“Bold blue color scheme: The logo incorporates the icy blue of our modern ‘racetrack design’ that first appeared in the 2010s.”
“Signature AB crest: it’s literally on all our cans.”
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there’s something that makes beer taste so much better when drunk from a clean colored can.
It doesn’t look like Bud Light is actually planning on releasing these, which is a damn shame because I’d be in on it in a heartbeat.
I’ll admit I’m not a big bud light guy, but that would make me switch teams.
