Bull Elk Nearly Walks Right Into Bowhunter’s Arrow For Shockingly Close Shot

Just because I’ve never been moose hunting doesn’t mean I don’t know exactly how I would have acted in that situation…

I would have absolutely freaked out, spooked it and possibly ended up on the bad side of a moose attack.

So it’s absolutely incredible what this guy was able to do.

South Cox from Stalker Stickbows chased along Born and raised outdoors when the moose they were chasing decided to approach them.

It was getting closer.

And closer.

Then sound a guttural bugle from only about 20 feet away.

And it came even closer, until it was actually only a few meters away.

As the moose walks past him and gives up its broad side, South lets go of the arrow and buries it deep in what has to be the shortest deadly shot ever. I mean what was that, 2 feet?

The most impressive thing about it is its composure. Not only does he remain calm while a monstrous moose comes straight at him, he keeps a recurve bow fully drawn the whole time, which is extraordinarily impressive.

Unlike the typical compound bow, there’s no hook at the end to hold the draw, so it’s literally drawing all the time while staying pretty much completely still.

Very, very impressive.

It’s safe to say that the moose escaped peacefully and everyone enjoyed the loot.

But damn, my heart is still racing…
