Businesses have become more skeptical about workplace romance in the wake of the #MeToo movement – women after 40

Developing romantic relationships in the workplace has never been considered a good idea in a professional setting. But while there are people who do get involved with someone at work, recent developments may have made that less likely.
The #MeToo movement has raised awareness of sexual harassment in the workplace around the world. The results of a recent study showed that romance became taboo in the workplace after the movement took social media by storm.
Around 80 percent of HR professionals said romantic relationships between people who work together have become less acceptable. Nearly 20 companies in the UK have gone ahead and banned romance in the workplace.
The study found that 78 percent of companies have reviewed and updated their workplace relationship policies in the wake of movements like #MeToo and Times Up.
