Canadian hiker has insanely close encounter with mom grizzly bear

The tension is killing me.

A woman was just enjoying her day in the woods of Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada, sitting on the banks of a river when she came into close contact with an undesirable company…

And I’m talking about a mom grizzly bear and a couple of her cubs.

In the video, you can see the bears chilling in the river while the videographer stands at a not-so-comfortable distance.

However, it quickly becomes more nerve-wracking when the curious bears decide to slowly move towards the woman.

Eventually, after a brief false attack, she goes back into the water and moves along the shore to keep her distance, but the curious cubs keep coming back.

Next thing you know…a cub (who isn’t that tiny herself) is only a few feet away from her, to the point where she could probably reach out and pet one of them (I strongly advise against it). from that by the way).

And then Mama Bear comes storming into the water behind our hiker.

It’s unclear if she ever contacts any of them, but you’d think she’d be abused for her reaction.

She must have made it out of the situation well though (she was clearly able to turn in the footage), but damn it if that’s not close.

As she said in the caption:

“Two curious grizzly cubs and a young mama bear. Mom was afraid of all the people and dogs by the river and was just trying to protect her curious cubs.”
