Cardi B says she’s “done” with plastic surgery over a year after giving birth to her second child.
The 30-year-old rapper and mother to Kulture, 4, and Wave, 1, opened up about going under the knife on the first episode of REVOLT The Jason Lee Show as she discussed her brief hiatus from the spotlight after having her son in September 2021.
“I didn’t want to jump out after I had my son because I told you I wanted to get my body ready first,” she said. “A lot of people thought that after the birth I automatically went to the surgery. No, I’ve literally waited about seven months to have surgery because we have to.”
Cardi shut down rumors of cosmetic surgery just a month after giving birth, when fans began speculating that she had her job done before attending Paris Fashion Week weeks after her son was born. “You can’t have surgery after you’re born,” she said at the time. “Especially me, I’ve lost so much blood guys.”
While Cardi wanted to be more patient with her body after having her son, she had previously revealed that she had breast augmentation and liposuction after the birth of her daughter. “Yeah, my daughter messed me up!” she said entertainment tonight in May 2019. After experiencing some complications as a result of the surgeries, she became tweeted in June 2019: “I will not be operated on again.”
“I always wanted to do certain things,” she told Jason Lee.
“People assume that if you have surgery or something like that, you feel insecure or hate yourself. And that’s just not the truth. I just feel like if I want to fix something, I want to do something. I don’t give a fuck, I will. I like simple, I like being perfect. I like a certain type of body for myself. And if I want to do it, I’ll do it. “
Even before she found fame, Cardi said she felt like she had a “big nose” but was “terrified” of getting it done. Around 2018 people started talking about a non-surgical way to change it.
“Everyone kept saying there’s a non-surgical way to make your nose smaller and that’s doing fillers. So in 2019 I did fillers right on my nose and that blocked my nose,” she said. “My nose got longer, it got bigger and I was like, ‘Oh my god, what the hell? I screwed up my nose.’ I have no choice but to actually get my nose done, so I got my nose done in 2020 after WAP.”
Now, after having cosmetic surgery after the birth of her son, Cardi once again claimed that she’s quitting the modifications.
“I’m done,” she said. “I look great.”
