Carlo Ancelotti gives injury update of 3 Real Madrid superstars including Karim Benzema

Real Madrid have been grappling with several injury concerns lately, with three superstars Karim Benzema, Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao currently out with various ailments.

It’s a big blow for the team, especially after the 1-0 defeat by Mallorca in La Liga, where the trio were absent.

🚨🎙| Ancelotti: “Courtois, Militao and Benzema are on the list because we believe they can recover by Saturday. If they are fine, they will join us on Thursday.”

Manager Carlo Ancelotti has released an injury update on the three players. He said they will not be available for Real Madrid’s FIFA Club World Cup semi-final against Al Ahly on Thursday (9 February).

However, the Italy manager hopes to return by February 26 against Elche in La Liga. Ancelotti shared an update on the injury list plaguing Los Blancos’ camp and said:

“Courtois, Militao and Benzema are on the list because we believe they can recover by Saturday. If they are fine, they will join us on Thursday.”

Benzema has been in superb form this season, scoring 13 goals in 21 games for Los Blancos. However, the reigning Ballon d’Or winner had an injury-plagued season, missing nine games through injury. He was recently substituted during the February 3 clash against Valencia after his hip flexion problems resurfaced. Militao also suffered a heavy hit in the same game.

Goalkeeper Courtois suffered a groin injury while warming up ahead of Mallorca clash. Madrid had to make a last-minute change to add Andriy Lunin to the position.

Despite injury worries, Ancelotti is confident his team can perform and deliver. He has said the players are working hard to recover and get back on the field as soon as possible. The three players have been included in the 22-man squad traveling to Morocco regardless of their injuries.

Real Madrid have been inconsistent this season and the injury spate in their camp is a cause for concern. The defending champions meet Liverpool in the first leg of the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League on 21 February.

‘It wasn’t necessary to include them’ – Real Madrid fans are unhappy to have included injured players in the FIFA World Cup squad

Real Madrid fans are angry and frustrated with Carlo Ancelotti for using injured players who could be available for the FIFA Club World Cup final on February 12.

The Italy manager has been criticized for hinting that he would field several key players who are not fully fit, such as Benzema and Courtois. Fans want key players to get a proper rest and are urging the manager not to rush their intake.

Real Madrid fans took to social media to express their disapproval, with many declaring that risking the players’ health was “not necessary” with a long season ahead. Here are some reactions:

@MadridXtra This should not necessarily include them. We have as many games to play as we can if we qualify for the final straight from injury

@elchiringuitotv No jodas tu, deja descansar a benzema. Luego arrastrandonos en liga (kroos y modric ya ni son fijos, no digo mas)

Real Madrid are eight points behind leaders Barcelona after 20 games.
