The Cleveland Cavaliers will wrap up a four-game road trip on Tuesday when they take on the collapsing Charlotte Hornets. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET at the Spectrum Center. Read on for the Cavaliers vs. Hornets odds.

This is the second contest in three days between the two, with Cleveland defeating Charlotte 114-108 on Sunday. The Hornets have now lost four in a row while the Cavs are seeking their fifth win in the last six here.

Cavaliers vs Hornets Odds

Charlotte Hornets +7.5 (-110) +250 OUT OF

The Cavaliers are heavily favored on Tuesday with 7.5 points and own an ATS away record of 14-19-2. Charlotte, meanwhile, hasn’t exactly developed as a home outsider, going 9-15. Cleveland has already beaten the Hornets twice in 2022-23.

Cavs could be in trouble without Allen

Though Cleveland is comfortably fourth in the NBA playoff bracket, Jarrett Allen’s recent injury is of great concern. The Cavs haven’t signed a major backup as of deadline and Kevin Love is also gone, meaning JB Bickerstaff mixed things up a bit. Evan Mobley now starts at five while Lamar Stevens moved into the first unit.

It’s unknown how long Allen could be sidelined with a bruised eye, but it’s far from ideal for a team aiming to secure the best possible post-season berth. Sunday’s win over the Hornets was also far from convincing as Cleveland struggled to come back and win after being 16 points down.

Darius Garland led by 28 points while Donovan Mitchell added 23 points. A strong fourth quarter proved crucial, outclassing Charlotte 33-19. The Cavs showed courage by fighting hard in the second half. Allen is unavailable on Tuesday and there is currently no timetable for his return. Needless to say, everyone else needs to step up with 12 games left.

Charlotte keeps fighting

The 2022-23 campaign couldn’t be more miserable for the Hornets. They are the second worst team in the East and have already lost star guard LaMelo Ball for the rest of the season. In fact, he was injured most of the year, which certainly didn’t help her case. At both ends of the floor, Steve Clifford’s group is downright bad, finishing 30th on offense and 21st on defense.

Sunday presented an opportunity to defeat a much better team, but Charlotte couldn’t hold on to the lead. They were outplayed 62-49 in the final two thirds, with turnover and fouls obviously playing a role. The Hornets coughed up the rock 19 times and that meant a whopping 29 points for Cleveland.

For example, Terry Rozier had 27 points and gave out six assists, but he also had eight turnovers. PJ Washington also contributed 19 points. The entire starting XI landed in double digits. That being said, there were just too many bugs. Pretty much the story of Charlotte’s season.

Cavaliers vs Hornets Prediction

The Hornets hardly ever cover. Also, Cleveland has been playing well lately. I don’t think you’ll see them come out sluggish again.

Choice: Cavaliers -7.5 (-110)
