Channing Wilson releases new single Gettin’ Outta My Mind and announces debut album Dead Man

Channing Wilson has made a name for himself as one of the top songwriters in all of Nashville, writing songs like Luke Combs’ number one hit “She Got the Best of Me,” and he’s written songs for the Oak Ridge Boys, Travis Tritt and others written more.
However, the Lafayette, Georgia native is poised to establish himself as a singer as well.
We’ve seen the man release a string of stellar singles over the past few months. “Sunday Morning Blues”, “Drink That Strong” and “Blues Comin’ On”.
And today he released his latest single “Getting Outta My Mind”.
A certified twanger, the song will transport you right back to ’80s and ’90s country as he sings about “getting back to your sanity” after his wife left and tearing the town apart like he used to.
With this in mind, Wilson is preparing to release his debut album, Dead man, on February 24th.
The album was produced by legendary producer Dave Cobb at Cobb’s studio in Savannah, Georgia, and Wilson himself opened up about the new project, emphasizing mental health awareness, a topic he feels doesn’t get enough talked about is spoken:
“During the Depression era, Jimmy Rogers was a big hit and the reason it was because he sang all these sad songs that let people know they weren’t the only ones going through hard times.
There are so many people out there right now struggling with issues like mental illness, but we still don’t talk about it nearly as much as we should.
So I hope this album helps people to realize that they are not alone, that someone else feels the way they do. Because that is the first step for me to feel good again.”
Get ready, this will be fine.
