Chelsea defeated Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to sign Ashley Lawrence from PSG

The Women’s Super League leaders are working to fill the gaps left by the departing pair of Magdalena Eriksson and Pernille Harder, who are set to join Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
Lawrence, 27, will be available on a free transfer this summer when her PSG contract expires. Both Real Madrid and Bayern were interested in a deal but lost to the Blues.
The following conversations were first reported by standard sport Last week, the versatile full-back agreed to join Chelsea on a three-year deal for the 2023/24 season.
The Blues are also close to signing midfielder Catarina Macario, who would act as an indirect replacement for Harder, with Lawrence set to be included in the squad where club captain Eriksson vacates.
Chelsea manager Emma Hayes and her assistant Paul Green have worked extensively with co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali on the upcoming transfer market.
