Cherokee completes acquisition of Gold Strike Casino

A $450 million deal for a Mississippi casino has been sealed.

CNE gambling establishments GMBH bought the operating company from the Mandalay Resort Group GMBHa subsidiary of MGM Resorts International for approximately $450 million in cash. Gold Strike opened in 1994 and was acquired by MGM resort in 2005.

The Mississippi Gaming Commission issued its eligibility determination and approval of the acquisition in January.
