Christian Lee has risen to become a global superstar in the ONE Championship since his professional debut in 2015, but he believes his younger brother Adrian Lee will be an even better version of him when the time comes.
It’s kudos from the former ONE World Lightweight Champion who is one of the most exciting fighters in the promotion today. Lee currently holds the record for most finishes in the promotion with 14, including a record-breaking 10 knockouts.
However, if there’s anyone who deserves such hype from The Warrior, it has to be Adrian. This year alone, the 16-year-old won a junior kickboxing title in his first event in the sport, a North American Grappling Association championship and USFL National Pangkration Championship.
Speaking to ONE Championship, Christian Lee previewed what his little brother can do at this stage in his martial arts journey.
“[Adrian is] be a better version of me when he enters the circle. Be able to hit it, shake it up, take it down and end its date, or leave it. His skills are developing really well and I’m happy for him,” he said.
If Adrian can continue to improve as Christian believes, then maybe he’ll soon be following in his siblings’ footsteps and performing under the bright lights of the ONE Championship.
“I don’t think it’s going to be too long before you see him fight on a global scale,” Lee said.
Christian Lee and his siblings are as real as they come
There’s little reason to doubt Christian Lee’s assessment of his little trouble given that he and his siblings have been all but announced since joining ONE Championship.
Big Sister Angela Lee was the first and only ONE World Women’s Atomweight Champion in the history of the promotion and has never relinquished the gold since its inception. Meanwhile, her little sister, Victoria Lee, has dominated her first three professional MMA fights, finishing off her opponent every time she steps in the circle.
For his part, Christian has amassed 14 finishes in 15 professional MMA fights, including ONE world title at lightweight and two world title defenses. As he prepares to regain his lost gold in the ONE 160 Main Event against current World Champion Ok Rae Yoon, the 24-year-old gets help from his younger brother Adrian.
Rolling and sparring with a top athlete like Christian in a training camp for a world title fight is certainly something that will help Adrian improve on his journey to the pro ranks.
