Cody Jinks, Clint Black And Ward Davis Team Up For Reimagined Rendition Of Clint’s 1990 Hit “Nothing’s News”

It’s the trio we all truly deserve.

In what I consider to be probably the best new Friday release this week, Cody Jinks, Ward Davis and Clint Black have teamed up for a reimagined version of Clint’s 1990 hit “Nothing’s News”.

Cody shared the announcement in a post on Instagram, saying he and Ward got the idea to record it one night before a show while sitting in Ward’s van listening to some of Clint’s old stuff.

Not only that, they also managed to bring him into the song, which takes it to a whole other level:

“@WardDavisMusic and I were sitting in his van one night listening to @ClintBlack before a show when we decided to record ‘Nothing’s News.’

Then we decided to call him and ask him to sing his own song with us. Not long after, we were put in touch with him and he said yes!

Everyone knows how important Clint is to country music, and I’m proud and grateful that he was so gracious and kind. Our rendition of ‘Nothing’s News’ is available now. Check out the link in bio.”

A solo effort by Clint, “Nothing’s News” was released in June 1990 as the fifth single from his debut album kill time It was actually his first single not to make #1 on US Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks, as it peaked at #3 later that year (but still not half bad).

Clint and Ward were both out with Cody this year, so it’s pretty cool to see the three teaming up to record a good old fashioned country song like this.

I mean, each of them has such strong and recognizable voices that hearing them all together almost feels too good to be true.

If you want real, pure country music, do yourself a favor and check out:
