Loose Women star Coleen Nolan joked she could be appearing alongside Jodie Prenger on Coronation Street at her long-lost sister’s.
The panel show host got the idea from Ruth Langsford on tonight’s show, which guest-starred Jodie, who arrives this week as the messy Glenda Shuttleworth.
Jodie and Coleen, who have known each other since they were children, were joking about their IRL sisterly bond when Ruth had the intuition.

When is Jodie Prenger on Coronation Street?
The former This Morning presenter said: “You know what? Maybe there should be a story where your long lost sister comes back from somewhere.”
Jodie, excited about the idea, told Coleen: “Well my mum went to school with your sister anyway. We must be related.”
She added: “And we’re Irish.”
An amused Coleen replied, saying: “How funny would that be?”
But Ruth wasn’t playing around, adding: “No, not funny. I think that would be great.”
Apparently laughing at the idea, Coleen turned to Jodie and said, “If you could call them to tell them I’m not auditioning!”
Ruth continued: “Imagine walking onto the set now. I’ll make you big.”
She then asked her what her name was, to which Gloria Hunniford suggested “Maisie”.
However, Coleen seemed uncomfortable being the center of attention, so don’t expect to see her on the cobbles anytime soon.
Jodie plays Glenda, George Shuttleworth’s sister
In June, it was announced that Jodie would join the cast of Corrie as the sister of regular character George Shuttleworth.
Jodie, who rose to fame with 2008’s I’d Do Anything, will make her big screen debut this Friday (5 August).
Glenda is a singer on a cruise ship who arrives in Weatherfield after a fight with her boss.
However, she is not unemployed for long and soon gets a job behind the bar at the Rovers.
Jodie said of her casting at the time: “I know I sound like a wimp but being on Coronation Street has been on my wish list since I was little.
“It’s an honor, it’s really a very special moment in my life.
“Being a part of something my family and I have loved for so long. And what a character, oh I have to say, absolute dream piece.
“Can’t wait for you all to meet the funny and cheeky Glenda, George Shuttleworth’s sister.”
She added: “I love Tony Maudsley already, what a guy! Your first day on the cobbles is one of the most nerve wracking experiences you will have and everyone was just so delightfully nice, kind and welcoming.
“It was and is everything I expected and more.”
Producer Iain MacLeod said, “Fresh off the cruise lines with a touch of the exotic, Glenda is quick to make best friends and foes alike.
“The character is a lot of fun and reminiscent of classic Coronation Street women from the old days.
“Jodie is a fabulous talent and we are all delighted to have her on board.
“She felt a lot like Corrie from the moment she walked on set and I think viewers are going to love her.”
Coronation Street normally airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
