‘Community Banks Are In the Community’

Vice President Kamala Harris provided another jumble of words Tuesday when she incoherently explained where “community banks” are located.

“We have invested an additional $12 billion in community banks because we know there are community banks in the community and we understand the needs and desires of that community and the talent and capacity of the community,” Harris said.

The vice president’s nonsensical remarks were made at Claflin University in South Carolina at an event with Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona during a roundtable with student leaders.

Harris was then mocked on social media when footage of her slip went viral.

“Kamala Harris, the biggest speaker on community banks since Winston Churchill” said Clay Travis, founder of OutKick

“Kamala had to do another book review on a book she didn’t read today…this time the title was ‘Community Banks'” wrote Comedian Tim Young.

“Thanks to @vp Kamala Harris for making it clear, ‘Community banks are in the community’.” tweeted Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

This wasn’t the first time the vice president has struggled with her words this year, as documented by Breitbart News.

Speaking at the workers’ summit for America’s transportation rescue plan in July, Harris spoke about the importance of coming home.

“Together we are expanding access to transport. Seems like it’s a minor issue; that’s a big problem,” the vice president said, before explaining incoherently, “You have to get going and be able to get where you need to go, get work done and get home.”

In June, Harris struggled to speak coherently when addressing the future of abortion after the Supreme Court overturned the decision Roe v. calf.

“The strength of our nation has always been that we push forward against all odds and obstacles. That we are guided by what we see that can be relieved of what was,” she said.

In March, Harris repeated the phrase “passing of time” four times in 30 seconds while making comments about high-speed Internet accessibility.

Harris’ comment on “community banks” is also not the first time a California Democrat has said something that would seem obvious from its phrasing.

In June 2020, following the Black Lives Matter protests, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti was asked a question about the definition of “systemic racism,” to which he replied, “Systemic racism is racism built into systems.”
