Coney Island Casino proposed to name WSOP ‘Thrill Team’

The Green Monster at Fenway Park will soon have ads promoting online sports betting, a World Series of Poker app is celebrating 10 years by forming a team to inspire, and a casino proposal for Coney Island are some of the short stacks , which CardsChat picked up on in its latest orbit of poker news.

The World Series of Poker free-to-play app celebrates its 10th anniversary by naming its first WSOP Thrill Team. Members are: Patrik Antonius, Espen Jorstad, Vanessa Selbt, Samantha Abernathy, Adam Hendrix, Landon Tice and Ethan Yau from Quincy, Massachusetts: winners of one WSOP bracelet and five WSOP rings, as well as two 2022 GPI Awards.
They will wear WSOP Thrill Team gear and take part in promotions through the Playtika app in 2023.
“I’m honored to be a member of the first Thrill team but even more excited to see who will be here with us 10 years from now as the game continues to grow in popularity thanks to the WSOP mobile app. The next generation of poker players will surely be even more talented as they continue to hone their skills online,” Antonius said in a press release.
Coney Island Casino Proposed
A group planning to build a casino at Coney Island in New York has released renderings. the project this weekend. The Chickasaw Nation, Legends, Thor Equities and Saratoga Casino Holdings are attempting to obtain one of three casino licenses that will be awarded later this year to serve the citizens of New York City.

The Coney would be a massive glass hotel and casino just a stone’s throw away. the Promenade, the Wonder Wheel and the smell of grilled meat tubes.
The group faces stiff competition. New York City’s live gaming market will be one of the largest in the world, including WSOP owner Caesars Entertainment. Even rapper and producer Jay-Z wants to intervene.
Big jackpots were hit in Caesar’s real estate
Two lucky people made it big in Nevada this past weekend.
A Washington state woman won $341,831 after hitting a royal flush playing Mississippi Stud Poker at Harrah’s Laughlin, a spokeswoman for Caesars Entertainment to the Las Vegas Review Journal.

BetMGM partners with the Boston Red Sox
BetMGM and the Fenway Sports Group announced that the online sportsbook is now the “Official Sportsbook Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox”. according to a press release. The online sports betting business in Massachusetts is planned to go live on March 10th.
That means BetMGM ads will appear on the walls of Fenway Park, including the legendary Green Monster. We’re betting that BetMGM and the Pittsburgh Penguins, recently acquired by Fenway Sports Book, will soon be announcing a partnership. BetMGM operates a sports book and two online poker rooms in Pennsylvania.
