Conor McGregor on Jorge Masvidal’s hit list for UFC return, ‘fireworks’ matchup with Gilbert Burns also an option

As he sat down to discuss his future, Jorge Masvidal named Conor McGregor and Gilbert Burns as the two ideal opponents for his eventual return to the Octagon.

‘Gamebred’ is currently going through the worst run of his professional MMA career after losing all three of his most recent engagements. Despite some lackluster performances of late, the elite competition the 37-year-old has faced in the cage over the last five years is nothing short of spectacular.

In a recent interview, when asked when he would return and who he plans to face next, Jorge Masvidal expressed some of his frustration with Conor McGregor in an attempt to earn the famous Red Panty Night fight against the Irishman.

“I wish I could put an exact date on the calendar, as you know I’ve got some legal issues so some things are out of my hands, out of my control… I wouldn’t mind breaking someone’s face and you could.” do I’ve heard of his name. He sells that cheap whiskey, he beats old people in bars. I would really like to finish this guy. And besides, it’s a big old paycheck.

Masvidal went on to confirm he would also enjoy facing dangerous Brazilian Gilbert Burns.

“If I couldn’t get Conor [McGregor]Gilbert Burns is another fight I would love, obviously because he’s the biggest paycheck there. If anyone who knows Gilbert and knows me knows a man, it’s going to be fireworks wherever the fight goes… It’s going to be bloody fireworks.

Is Conor McGregor possible against Jorge Masvidal?

Ever since Conor McGregor broke his leg in the trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier, he’s been pushing hard for his return. One thing that fans have noticed is the size the lightweight has taken on during its inactivity.

Speculation circulated that the 33-year-old was ready to return to welterweight. While most suspect the former champ champion would be shoved right into the cover photo, he could make a cheaper matchup first.

The Notorious and Jorge Masvidal have been at odds for a while. Although Dana White has previously had a fight for the pair, testing himself against another forward at 170lbs might not be the worst decision he’s ever made.
