Conor McGregor’s team releases statement after he is roped in for a movie Ronda Rousey was supposed to act in

Conor McGregor’s team has released a statement saying he is set to star in the remake of the classic Hollywood action thriller street house.
Deadline reported earlier today that the street house Remake will star Jake Gyllenhaal. The cast also includes Conor McGregor, Billy Magnussen and Daniela Melchior. Joel Silver will produce the remake for Silver Pictures, just as he did the original. Doug Liman will serve as director, with Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry writing the screenplays.
The Amazon Original film is slated to begin production later this month and will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video upon its release. The story follows a former UFC fighter, played by Gyllenhaal, who takes a job as a bouncer at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys, where he eventually discovers that all is not as it seems.
McGregor won’t be playing himself, but an original character. Further details about his character have not yet been announced. Also, as confirmed by Ariel Helwani, the remake will feature The Notorious in a starring role.
In addition, McGregor’s spokeswoman, Karen J. Kessler, issued a statement to Helwani detailing McGregor’s feature film debut. She particularly emphasized that his “top focus” is still struggling. The statement from McGregor’s team is as follows:
“Conor McGregor is very excited to extend his successful career to Hollywood and join Jake Gyllenhaal in this reinterpretation of the beloved classic ‘Road House.’ While fighting remains his primary focus, this marks the beginning of another successful endeavor in the McGregor empire. He is looking forward to starting filming.”
Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey and the “Road House” connection
The original street house The movie was released in 1989. It was widely acclaimed and a box office hit. A sequel entitled street house 2 was released direct-to-DVD in 2006 but was panned by critics and fans alike.
Interestingly, in September 2015, it was announced that MMA legend Ronda Rousey would be starring in one street house make new. However, following their shocking loss to Holly Holm in November 2015, the project was shelved in 2016.
Separately, it has been confirmed that Jake Gyllenhaal will be starring street house Remake alongside Conor McGregor, the latter having replaced Ronda Rousey. Rousey last competed in MMA in December 2016. “Rowdy” currently performs as a sports entertainer with WWE.
Meanwhile, McGregor is recovering from a leg injury he sustained last July. The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion has indicated he will return to welterweight next. McGregor is reportedly targeting a return to the Octagon in Feb/March 2023 against an opponent yet to be determined.
