Conran Shop website up for rent for first time in 38 years

T

he Conran Shop site in south Kensington, which for decades was a popular shopping destination for wealthy Londoners, is back on the market for the first time in 38 years.

The furniture, lighting and lifestyle store on Fulham Road, next to the iconic Michelin building, closed in February and relocated to Sloane Square.

It became the first Conran store in 1985 when the tire manufacturer’s former London headquarters was redesigned by Sir Terence Conran and publisher Paul Hamlyn.

The two-storey building has a retail area of 20,781 sq ft and a total of 34,558 sq ft. It is being marketed by Colliers for rent. Sir Terence founded the Conran Shop in 1973 and sold it to entrepreneur Javad Marandi in 2020.
