Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. is two years above his age group at Saudi Arabia’s elite academy

Cristiano Ronaldo’s son Cristiano Jr. trains with players two years his senior at Mahd Academy in Saudi Arabia, English newspaper The Sun reported.

Cristiano Ronaldo was officially unveiled as an Al Nassr player on January 3, days after he signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Saudi pro-league team. It has been reported that the Portuguese legend will earn a record $200m a year, all endorsements included, during his time at Al Nassr.

Ronaldo only made his Al-Nassr debut on Sunday (January 22) after overcoming a two-game suspension imposed by the FA. However, his son Cristiano Jr. has been working hard since coming to Saudi Arabia. According to The Sun, the 12-year-old left Manchester United’s academy when his father’s contract was mutually terminated and has been training in Saudi Arabia ever since.

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and his son Cristiano Ronaldo Junior watch Rafael Nadal of Spain against Jarkko Nieminen of Finland during their third round match during day six of the Mutua Madrid Open tennis tournament at Caja Magica May 8, 2014 in Madrid, Spain.

It has been reported that Cristiano Jr. is currently training at Mahd Academy, Saudi Arabia’s national sports training center. The young footballer, who has reportedly had the chance to return to Real Madrid’s youth academy, has made quite an impression at the academy. Junior reportedly trains with footballers in his age group two years above him.

It will be interesting to see if Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. manages to follow in his father’s footsteps and make a name for himself in his formative years.

Cristiano Ronaldo is enjoying a successful start to his career at Al Nassr

After scoring twice in Riyadh All-Stars XI’s 4-5 friendly defeat by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) last week last week, Ronaldo made his competitive debut for Al Nassr on Sunday.

Featuring the most successful player ever to play in the Saudi Pro League, Al Nassr took on Ettifaq and won 1-0. Anderson Talisca scored the only goal of the game in the 31st minute.

Although Cristiano Ronaldo failed to score on his debut, his performance was encouraging. He made smart runs, brought team-mates into play, created chances and aimed at every opportunity.

Over the course of the game, Ronaldo created two chances, attempted four shots (one on target), completed one dribble and made 24 accurate passes (89% accuracy).
