Basking in the sun, Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo posted a cheerful picture on his Instagram handle on Thursday (4 August).
Ahead of the Red Devils’ Premier League game against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday (6 August), Ronaldo’s cheerful mood is sure to come as a relief to suspicious fans.
Despite Cristiano Ronaldo’s best efforts, the Red Devils failed to qualify for the Champions League last season, leading to speculation that the 37-year-old would leave the club this summer.
Ronaldo himself has kept a low profile on the matter and is currently struggling to appear for Erik ten Hag’s side against the Seagulls this weekend.
On Thursday, Ronaldo took to Instagram to share a snap of himself under the clear Manchester skies. With the caption “mood,” here’s the image the superstar posted:
Ronaldo, who returned to Old Trafford in the summer of 2021, emerged as Manchester United’s best player of the 2021/22 season, scoring 24 goals in 38 games in all competitions. He scored 18 of those 24 goals in the English top flight, making him the third-best goalscorer in the division behind top scorers Mohamed Salah and Heung-min Son (23 goals).
Cristiano Ronaldo shows exemplary attitude in Manchester United training session
Ronaldo played his first game under Erik ten Hag on July 31 in a 1-1 friendly draw against Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford. The Portuguese superstar only played in the first half and was spotted leaving the stadium before the final whistle, drawing criticism from his new manager.
The former Real Madrid player seems to have taken the criticism well and had a fruitful training session with the Red Devils on Thursday (4 August).
According to the Manchester Evening News, Cristiano Ronaldo worked hard to regain fitness in Manchester United’s latest training session. He has also been spotted with Argentinian teenager Alejandro Garnacho, a player who recently dedicated an Instagram post to the Portuguese striker.
With just 45 minutes of pre-season football, Ronaldo may not be at 100%. However, with Anthony Martial out with a hamstring problem, the Portuguese skipper could see action sooner than expected.
