Takeover of iDec, 2022 at 17:00 Isuf Hatic’s pardon After CD Projekt Red rolled out the flawed Cyberpunk 2077, the focus is on the future of the franchise. A GOTY edition must be produced in 2023 before an in-house sequel will be produced.
CD Projekt Red was able to book at least Cyberpunk 2077 as a complete success this fall. In addition to the new player numbers, more than a million players left Night City at the same time and had positively broken the magical 90 percent mark. The steam ratings now focus on future plans for Cyberpunk 2077.
As for the release of the Phantom Liberty DLC planned for 2023, there will not only be a major update, said CEO Adam Kicinski at an investor meeting, reports the portal Insider Gaming. With the addition of the content, a Game of the Year Edition for Cyberpunk 2077 will be released, available now for $59.99 – and still includes all updates and the full-price DVDs. The GOTY edition, on the other hand, can celebrate its release in 2023.
As Kicinski explains, this project is a natural order. Finally, the CDPR started with The Witcher 3 and was able to make the entire Witcher 3 experience accessible through the two expansions Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. So I will get the same procedure with Cyberpunk 2077.
As the Phantom Liberty expansion begins, CDPR will begin work on this sequel, which will initially include a phase where the development team will work on several concepts ahead of pre-production. So far it is only known that the sequel will be built under the name Orion.
