Damar Hamlin and teammate Josh Allen respond to viral conspiracy theories

The Buffalo Bills deny a conspiracy theory involving injured security guard Damar Hamlin.

Quarterback Josh Allen addressed unsubstantiated claims in an interview with Kyle Brandt that a body double appeared in place of Hamlin in the Bills’ Sunday playoff game.

“That’s stupid… you said there’s mainstream media pushing this?” Allen said of internet theories that a body double-dressed as Hamlin at the game.

β€œFirst, this is Damar’s swag, which he likes to wear. Secondly, he was in the dressing room with us before the game. So yes, that was Damar. There’s absolutely no chance – that’s the Damar Hamlin, that’s our guy, that’s our brother, he was with us before the game, after the game, he was 100 percent in suite with his family, his little brother .

β€œSo people have to stop. Stop that shit.”

Hamlin, who suffered a heart injury in a game earlier this month, appeared as an inactive player at Highmark Stadium for the Bills’ playoff game on Sunday. He wore sunglasses and a hoodie to the competition.

Hamlin appeared to respond to the internet speculation by tweeting a photo of himself – which he captioned ‘clone’.

Hamlin later thanked Bill’s fans for their support during the game. He tweeted, “Grateful for all the REAL love, thoughts and prayers from around the world…you’ll be hearing from me soon!”
