Dan Walker slammed “idiots” on Twitter for trolling his former co-star.
BBC Breakfast star Nina Warhurst is the show’s business and consumer presenter – but has sadly fallen victim to trolls.
Nina… I think you can safely put that under “idiots”.

They even started emailing her at work.
Now the journalist has shared some of the emails she received – and enlisted Dan’s support.
Nina posted two emails from people who commented on her body and clothing choices.

Alongside them, she wrote: “Some emails I picked up today from someone I’ve never met.
“It’s hard to know what to do with stuff like that. But I’m putting it here because I get that kind of “advice” a lot. And to other women.
“We have a long, long road ahead of us.”
Dan defends co-star
Quoting her post, Dan hit out at the trolls, “Nina…I think you can safely file these under ‘idiots.’
“Ignore her. Her value is not measured by that kind of nonsense.
“You are brilliant at your job, great to work with and you always look classy.
“Got to go…I gotta spend an hour on the glute machine.”
Dan recently left BBC Breakfast to join Channel 5 in a big money deal.
Elsewhere, Dan was recently awarded an honorary doctorate from Solent University.
The presenter received an honorary doctorate in media and shared a photo of himself in university robes with his doctorate on Twitter.
Dan captioned the tweet, “Thank you Solent Uni for inviting me to receive my honorary doctorate today.”

Meanwhile, the star said he was “really humbled”.
He added: “It was nice to be back at university and to meet so many people.
“All the best to all graduates who have to wear caps and capes in the 30-degree heat.”
