Danger! Producer shares rare secret and apologizes for ‘terrible mistake’
A Danger! The producer has revealed a show secret and apologized for a “terrible mistake” in a recent episode.
On March 9, viewers tuning in to the game show were left frustrated after host Mayim Bialik showed a recording of the contestants’ final scores during the opening speech.
The moment spoiled the entire episode, and now Executive Producer Michael Davies has revealed why the glitch occurred.
Speaking of Internal Danger! Podcast Davies said: “Right off the bat apologies to our entire audience.”
He continued, “We totally screwed it up at the top of the show. We made a terrible mistake revealing the end result in the opening shot at the end during Mayim’s monologue.”
Davies, who offers a rare glimpse into the series’ production, then said that the opening portion of the show is often reshot after the game is completed, with cutaway shots, including the contestants’ final scores, being replaced with the same shots from the beginning.
He said that while it’s “standard practice to bring podium scores back to original levels,” for some reason it “didn’t happen” on that particular day – and nobody in post-production noticed the error,
“It’s a series of mistakes and it’s kind of remarkable that they all happened,” Davies said, but assured viewers protocols are now in place “that will prevent this from happening again”.
He explained: “My whole thing is to always not focus on what happened and why this happened to punish people. It’s what happened and why it happened so we can create a log to make sure it never happens again.”

Apologizing to “anyone whose experience this program has ruined,” Davies continued, “We take these mistakes so deeply to heart, the self-flagellation that’s occurring across the leadership team, the postal team and everyone involved.”
“That is a good thing Danger. We take mistakes very, very seriously.”
