Darlington: ORB micropub and 60 premises affected by power outage

60 properties on Coniscliffe Road and Skinnergate were without power today (September 2) due to a power outage.

Northern Powergrid says residents can expect power to return by 9pm today.

They said the problem was caused by an “unexpected problem with the cables or equipment” serving the area.

A spokesperson for ORB Micropub confirmed that the pub had to close overnight due to the power outage.

They said, “As I’m sure most people know, we’re closed tonight.”

“Power failure. Nightmare.”

“Hopefully everything is sorted out for tomorrow.”

“Open from 2 p.m. Bottom up!”

Many other businesses and restaurants in the area were also reportedly affected by the outage.
